Frequently Asked Questions

How can I open a Nancy's Pizzeria?

Nancy’s actively seeks highly qualified individuals to become franchisees. Prior business experience, personal financial qualifications, individual motivation, a great ability to positively motivate a team and a track record of success are important factors we seriously consider in our review process. If you are interested in pursuing a single store or an area development opportunity as a Nancy’s Pizza franchisee, please submit a Franchise Application and we will contact you to discuss your personal goals and see how we can help you achieve them.

How much money do I need to open a Nancy's franchise?

There is a range of estimated costs based on the desired restaurant type. A Nancy's Carry-Out Restaurant requires a total investment of between $479,800 and $694,400. A Nancy's Full-Service restaurant requires a total investment of between $1,089,400 and $1,899,500. Even though finding an existing restaurant and converting it to one of our stores may save a lot of money, it is best to plan on these cost ranges for the type of store in which you are interested. You may also need personal collateral for a loan and a net worth of at least $400,000 to complete your project if you will be in need of additional funds from a lending source. A strong personal credit score is crucial to obtaining additional financing.

How much are royalties and other fees?

The initial franchise fee is $30,000 for a Nancy's Pizzeria Carry-Out Restaurant and $50,000 for a Nancy's Pizzeria Full-Service Restaurant. Royalties are 6% of gross sales. Ongoing Advertising fees are 3% of gross sales.

How much money can I make as a Nancy's Pizzeria franchisee?

Profitability depends on many factors including operating and occupancy costs, financing terms and most importantly, your ability to operate the business effectively. Average sales for our stores are listed in our Federal Disclosure Documents.  Just remember, your success will be 100% dependent on your work ethic, abilities and dedication.

How long does it take to open a store?

Each location is different, depending on a variety of factors, including site selection, city requirements, build-out and training. After signing your franchise agreement, it will typically take an additional 6 to 8 months to the opening day of your restaurant.

What kind of training can I expect?

All new franchisees participate in a 12-week training program in the Chicagoland area.  This consists of a combination of classroom training and real time, hands-on operations and management training. This apprenticeship program takes place in an operational restaurant and at our corporate training center.

Do I receive opening assistance?

We typically spend the first 2 weeks with you when your store opens to assist with hiring, training and operations. Once open, franchisees will receive regular updates to their training, including regular site and operational reviews.

How is food quality and consistency maintained?

All food products are delivered by our approved distributors. In this manner, the high-quality menu offerings enjoyed in Chicago are the same as what you will serve your customers.

What are the typical store sizes, services and menu items offered?

A Nancy’s Pizzeria Carry-Out restaurant is approximately 1,200 to 1,800 square feet and a Full-Service restaurant is approximately 3,000 to 4,000 square feet. Both offer a variety of pizza, pasta, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, desserts, beverages and other approved menu items. Full-service restaurants typically offer full bar service if locally available.
